Checking or verifying the WiFi settings on a router is important when connecting WiFi devices to your network. This is the best route to take if you are unsure of your router’s WiFi settings. 
 
The WiFi password is used when connecting computers and other devices to WiFi while router admin password is used to log in to the LinksysSmartWiFi.com page. You can also 
check and update it using your Linksys cloud account .
 
There are three important WiFi settings on your router that you need to take note of before connecting to your WiFi:

 
  • WiFi name (SSID)
  • WiFi security mode
  • Security key (password / passphrase)
 
There are three ways to check the WiFi settings of the router:

Linksys app
 
1. Connect your mobile device to your router's WiFi then open the Linksys app.
 
2. For iOS, tap Manage Your Wi-Fi.  For Android™, tap Log in.

3. You will be prompted to log in using your Linksys cloud account. Enter the necessary credentials and tap Log in

You can also choose to log in using Router Password on iOS or Use Admin Password on Android.

4. On the Dashboard, tap the Menu icon in the upper-left corner.

5. Tap Wi-Fi Settings.
 

 
LinksysSmartWiFi.com
 
1. Access your Linksys cloud account using a web browser.
 

2. On the LinksysSmartWiFi.com page, click Wi-Fi Settings under Router Settings.

The WiFi settings of your Linksys Smart WiFi router should now be displayed. You may update or change these settings.

TIP: Setting your Network to Disabled will turn OFF the WiFi capability of the router.

If the steps for checking your wireless settings according to your computer’s operating system do not work, try using the procedures mentioned above.
 
 
1. Right-click on the WiFi icon located at the bottom right of your screen and go to Network and Internet settings.
 
2. Click on Advanced network settings.
 
3. Click on More network adapter options.

4. Right-click on your WiFi connection and click Status.
 
5. Click Wireless Properties.
 
6. Click the Security tab, and then tick the box next to Show characters to show the Network security key.
 
 
The following are steps for retrieving the WiFi password using Keychain Access. Note that images may differ depending on the operating system being used. In the following steps, macOS Monterey is used.
 
1. Click Go > Utilities.
 
2. Go to Keychain Access.
 
3. Double-click the SSID under Name.
 
4. In the Attributes tab, tick on the box next to Show password.
 
5. When prompted, enter the Keychain password in the dialog box and then click OK.
 
TIP: Make a note of the password listed in the Show password field to use when connecting to the WiFi.
